About the academy
Legal education in service of justice
Institutional background
The academy was established by PRALARG International to make structured legal education and paralegal training available online. It serves PRALARG's own training programmes first, and is designed so that it can support other organisations in future.
Training philosophy
We believe legal knowledge should be practical, clear and grounded in the realities of the communities learners serve. Lessons are written in plain language, organised into short modules, and specific to the jurisdiction they address.
Educational objectives
Learners should understand fundamental legal principles and rights; know how justice institutions operate in their jurisdiction; be able to support others through legal processes responsibly; and recognise when to refer matters to qualified legal practitioners.
Legal empowerment mission
Access to justice begins with knowing your rights. Through paralegal training, human rights education, criminal justice awareness and mediation training, the academy aims to strengthen individuals and communities to use the law to protect themselves and others.
A note on recognition
Courses offered through the academy are educational. Unless a specific course states otherwise, they do not by themselves confer a professional qualification or licence to practise law.
